3,2,1...We have Takeoff!

The first Orbit Newsletter

Welcome to Launchpad 🚀

Launchpad is a bi-weekly newsletter from Orbit Apps that’s focused on helping Shopify merchants take their stores to the next level with employable e-commerce strategies and tactics. We really do understand that launching a brand (and running a store) can be pretty dang hard. So get comfortable, we’re here to help you do both.

Threshold-Driven Discounts:

Nowadays, DTC brands are giving out discounts & coupons left and right. Though many of these tactics aren’t actually very effective at driving sales or getting customers to make larger purchases. They’re simply a way to lower profits and & get “the sale” no matter the cost.

Pro Tip: Customers who only purchased because they were able to get that extra 10% off are very unlikely to purchase again. Brands should be more focused on giving discounts to possible customers who are inspired by their brand/products and allow them to engage in different ways.

This is where Threshold driven discounts come in!

A threshold-driven discount is a pricing strategy that’s presented to customers only once they meet a certain threshold or condition. Here's an example:

A clothing store offers a promotion where customers receive a discount of 20% off their purchase if they spend $100 or more.

So, if a customer purchases $80 worth of product, they won't receive the discount. But if they purchase items worth $120, they will receive a discount of $24 (20% of $120), bringing their total purchase price down to $96. In this way, the store is incentivizing customers to spend more in order to receive the discount.

Helping customers spend more is better than helping customers just make a purchase. And you can easily setup your first threshold discount campaign with USO. In fact, Ultimate Special Offers makes it easy and efficient to run 9 different promotion types — and you can try it for free!

One of the easiest ways to increase sales is by simply optimizing your website for better conversion. No need to bring on a team of developers when you easily and simply make one-off changes with tools like Hey Carson. Shopify merchants are meant to help you grow your store — so let them!

Suggested Apps

A website is only as good as its landing pages. So, why not build ones that attract and convert customers? PageFly makes the process of standing up custom landing pages a breeze. (Don’t worry, you won’t need to learn how to code).

Help your customers keep track of their progress toward rewards, discounts, or free shipping offers by adding progressive bars to your store page. With a wide range of customizable options, you can create a banner that fits your theme and attracts the attention of your customers.

There should be no limit to the number of custom product variants a merchant can create. Where Shopify limits that number to 100, Globo unlocks that limit (allowing for infinite product options). Give your customers the option to fully customize your products based on the options provided. Trust us, they will be happy to pay extra for something unique to them.
